Dear Hioecians

It has been half a century since HTYC first embarked on its journey in 1971. Being healthy, tenacious, young and caring has become the values of thousands of Hioecians. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, HTYC is organising a variety of on-campus events. We believe such joy and grace from God should also be shared with Hioecians of different generations. You are cordially invited to join our Virtual Choir, one of the celebration events for Hioecians from around the world. In particular, we are going to sing the school song together.  

Composed by A.T. Roy and W.H. Wong in 1972, our school song – Where Southern Skies Are Warming, is a timeless connection for all Hioecians. We sing the school song at the beginning-of-term assembly, at the graduation ceremony, and at all important school functions. We are always reminded to be generous and self-giving. The line ‘For Christ moves on before us, Triumphant over wrong’ has also become our lifelong support no matter where we are.

Now, it is a chance for us to reunite. Flourishing in His grace, we would like to celebrate the school’s golden jubilee with you and join the Virtual choir. We know that God keeps our souls among the living, and does not allow our feet to slip.

親愛的丘中人：

常言道：「十年樹木，百年樹人。」時光荏苒，基督教女青年會丘佐榮中學自1971年成立至今，本著丘中精神「健康顯活力，堅毅添關懷」，與大家同行五十載。在基督的帶領下，感恩大家的相知相遇，相互成就豐碩的聖靈果子。適逢金禧，本校舉辦了一系列的活動慶祝。當中，網上校歌大合唱給我們一個機會，共頌主恩，共尋回憶，共創將來。

校歌，承載著丘中人的共同身份，連繫著每一位師生。當響起熟悉的前奏，唱起首句「Where Southern Skies Are Warming」時，相信丘中人總會琅琅上口。悠揚的旋律喚醒丘中人與良師益友的學校點滴。歌詞最後一句「For Christ moves on before us, Triumphant over wrong」，更提醒我們要做神的兒女，學懂感恩知足。每每細味歌詞時，領悟則有所不同。由初聞開學禮上的校歌，到音樂堂上的練唱，轉到合唱團的演唱，或於畢業典禮的大合唱。它，見證著大家的成長，亦祝福著大家在未來一切安好。

不論你身在何方，只要你和我們一樣，擁抱丘中精神，我們邀請你透過網上大合唱，同唱校歌，祝賀丘中金禧之喜，一齊聲聲留影，亦憑歌寄意，奉上祝福：靠主喜樂，願神的恩典像船錨一樣，讓我們在風雨波濤中安穩身心。
