Okinawa Japan Study Tour 2025

From 23 to 27 June, 37 participants, including 4 teachers and 33 students, embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to the stunning island of Okinawa, Japan. 🇯🇵

This tour was more than just a trip. It was an immersive dive into Okinawa’s rich culture and traditions. A standout moment was the school visit, where students bonded with local peers, experienced Japanese school life, and gained a deeper appreciation for cultural exchange.

At Yomitan Village, students explored rural life through activities like playing the Sanshin, harvesting sugarcane, and sharing a homemade lunch with local families. They also participated in cultural activities such as Ryukyu Bingata, where they dyed fabric bags with intricate designs, and a karate workshop, learning the basics of this world-famous martial art.

Through visits to iconic sites like Shurijo Castle Park, Manzamo, the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, the Okinawa Prefectural Peace Memorial Park, and Gyokusendo Cave, students reflected on history, resilience, and cultural heritage. Strolling along Kokusaidori and enjoying an Eisa dance performance gave them a glimpse into the vibrant traditions of Okinawa.

This unforgettable adventure inspired new perspectives, meaningful connections, and lasting memories.
